Tisha B'Av (9th of Av) is the saddest day in the Hebrew calendar. It is the day which commemorates the destruction of both Jerusalem Temples, as well as all the Holocaust and all the other pogroms and persecutions which the Jewish people have suffered. It is also a day of hope.
